Strengths
Impressive lateral quickness for a big, tall back. Demonstrates patience and vision. Good burst. Great hands and experienced in the passing game. Good speed and doesn’t easily get caught from behind.
Weaknesses
Upright too often. Doesn't always finish runs with the authority you expect for a back his size. Actually too patient at times and appears hesitant or disinterested. Flashed but was never the guy or lead back at Oklahoma for various reasons.
Overall
Former 5 star recruit now infamously known for his violent video incident, the talented Oklahoma RB choose to declare with 2 years remaining, trying to kickstart an NFL career and put that Oklahoma chapter in his past.
Mixon has 1st round tools. It's hard not to see some Le’veon Bell in his running style. But his character remains in question. His take on his past incident doesn't entirely subdue concerns about what kind of person he is. And he choose to declare instead of stay and school and put even more distance, and more good tape, between him and that incident.
His HC flip flopped his support of him once the tape broke but there's no doubt another strong season would've helped his stock and image. Although a lot of teams will take him off the board there are those that absolutely will give him an opportunity. I think he could come off the board as early as the top of the 2nd.
