ROUND 1
1. Carolina Panthers - QB Bryce Young
It's only fitting that the outlier king kick off this 2023 draft of outliers. Smallest QB ever drafted this high but in reality his success or failure is going to be all about his skills not his physical frame.
NFL Comp: Joe Montana-esque
2. Houston Texans - Will Anderson Jr
I'm in on the Texans acquiring Trey Lance and passing on the rest of the 23' QBs. Anderson isn't the most physically gifted defender but his motor, character and play style can be an identity setter for a defense.
NFL Comp: angry Jabaal Sheard
3. TRADE Tennessee Titans (ARI) - QB Anthony Richardson
Richardson is dead on brand for the Titans. The physical unicorn of QB prospects is also arm talented but also much less pretentious than one might expect from someone with all that upside. ..HOF aspirations aside.
NFL Comp: bigger Michael Vick
4. Indianapolis Colts - QB Will Levis
I think Levis is a lot more like Oklahoma Jalen Hurts than most would say. Durability and immediate expectations are the challenges.
NFL Comp: arm talent Taysom Hill
5. Seattle Seahawks - DT Jalen Carter
Ridiculous talent marginalizes everything else that presents as flag. Carter doesn't appear to be an especially mature guy for his age but where he'll be in 5 years is anyone's guess. Seattle has walked down that path before and I think will be willing to do it again.
NFL Comp: 325lb Shaun Rogers
6. Detroit Lions - CB Devon Witherspoon
Lions offense got on track last season and now it could be the defense's turn. Witherspoon is an identity maker on that side of the ball.
NFL Comp: Devin McCourty
7. Las Vegas Raiders - CB Christian Gonzalez
Gonzalez improved rapidly at Oregon and it's a good wager he'll continue to ascend as a pro. All pro territory will depend on just how hard he goes.
NFL Comp: lean Patrick Surtain
8. Atlanta Falcons - QB CJ Stroud
Stroud's had an uneven college career even though he's been surrounded by NFL talent at OSU. The key is whether his tendency to step up in clutch situations will apply to his entire NFL career or just flashes here and there within some games.
NFL Comp: mobile Jared Goff
9. Chicago Bears - DE Myles Murphy
Imo Murphy is one of the more underrated prospects in this class. He's capable of playing a speed or power game, at the poa or in space. He's got a Willie McGinest/ZaDarius Smith potential impact as a pro.
NFL Comp: Za'darius Smith
10. Philadelphia Eagles - LB Nolan Smith
Considerable upside and the ability to play multiple positions, Smith has the talent and intensity to be a much better pro than college player.
NFL Comp: mid Khalil Mack
11. TRADE Arizona Cardinals (Tenn) - Bijan Robinson
New offense coordinator Petzing is basically a Kevin Stefanski disciple and that could mean a deemphasizing of the passing attack and a lean in on the running game with the need for a clearcut franchise RB becoming crucial.
NFL Comp: LaDianian Tomlinson
12. Houston Texans - DE Tyree Wilson
Wilson isn't exactly a slam dunk prospect but the framework of a special player is there. A team could use him in a Justin Tuck like fashion early in his career.
NFL Comp: Jason Jones
13. Green Bay Packers - WR Jaxson Smith-Njigba
JSN projects as an elite slot WR and the Packers currently have a giant hole there within a thin WR group.
NFL Comp: Christian Kirk
14. New England Patriots - OT Paris Johnson
Johnson's athleticism is special for the position. Even if his anchor doesn't improve substantially, his ability on the move is lethal.
NFL Comp: Will Beatty
15. New York Jets - DT Mazi Smith
The Jets defense is already one of the league's best but a true O could turn it into a killer. Smith's been a bit of an underachiever at Michigan but could easily hit his stride as a pro.
NFL Comp: Brandon Williams
16. Washington Commanders - OT Peter Skoronski
Skoronski's a natural that holds up despite lacking an ideal frame. Whether it's eventually on the outside or inside, he'll hold it down for years.
NFL Comp: Zack Martin
17. Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Joey Porter Jr
Feels like an obligatory pick but tbh I'm not convinced Porter doesn't end up at safety as a pro, although the Steelers could use that just too, but the fit and need match up well here.
NFL Comp: Trumaine Johnson
18. Detroit Lions - TE Dalton Kincaid
Kincaid's potentially a better fit in the passing game than Hockenson, and his roadhouse play style couldn't fit any better.
NFL Comp: George Kittle
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - OT Darnell Wright
Bucs offense let the goat QB down last season and prompted retirement. They'll need to start rebuilding from the ground up. Wright is an old school RT that could grow into a key contributor.
NFL Comp: mean Cordy Glenn
20. Seattle Seahawks - LB Drew Sanders
I'm admittingly higher on Sanders than some but I think he's a legitimate, explosive raw talent at LB and a veteran like Bobby Wagner would make an ideal mentor.
NFL Comp: quicker Kyle Van Noy
21. LA Chargers - DE Lukas Van Ness
Van Ness is a relatively raw, athletic freak with the ability to play multiple spots. He could eventually grow into a prototype attacking 5 technique or stand off the edge on the Chargers.
NFL Comp: Aaron Smith
22. Baltimore Ravens - DT Calijah Kancy
I'm skeptical Cancy could live successfully as a full time 3 technique, but as a versatile disruption guy, I think he could find a niche. And the Ravens have traditionally transformed and utilized big edge players similarly, like Jarret Johnson, Courtney Upshaw, and Elvis Dumervil.
NFL Comp: technique sound Solomon Thomas
23. Minnesota Vikings - CB Emmanuel Forbes
If Forbes was 15 lbs heavier, there wouldn't be any question that he's a 1st round talent. I'd like to think new GM Adofo-Mensah won't pass on a guy that's an ideal defensive fit and fills a glaring need just because he doesn't fit perfectly in a box.
NFL Comp: faster Greedy Williams
24. Jacksonville Jaguars - OT Anton Harrison
Harrison is a wall in pass pro despite not being a top tier athlete. He's a reliable OT and should be an upgrade over Robinson.
NFL Comp: bigger Jeff Allen
25. New York Giants - RB Jahmyr Gibbs
What do you after giving Daniel Jones a giant multi-year deal? You double down on what actually made you successful, especially with the contract status and injury history of Saquan.
NFL Comp: peak Raheem Mostert
26. Dallas Cowboys - OC John Micheal-Schmitz
The Cowboys reconfigure along the same lines starting upfront typically. JMS is the best interior lineman in this class and reloads the weakening line.
NFL Comp: Maurkice Pouncey
27. Buffalo Bills - OT Broderick Jones
Jones has substantial upside and imo could project inside or out. He's a potential beast in the running game.
NFL Comp: Elgton Jenkins
28. Cincinnati Bengals - DT Adetomiwa Adebawore
The Bengals are basically filled up on both sides of the ball. Adebawore is potentially a killer closer that can situationally play in and out while he gets better.
NFL Comp: Javon Hargrave
29. New Orleans Saints - OG OCyrus Torrence
The Saints have always valued interior pass pro guys because of the years with Brees. Carr is actually no different in that he needs protection specifically up the middle of the pocket to be effective.
NFL Comp: Willie Colon
30. Philadelphia Eagles - RB Zach Charbonnet
Charbonnet is an underrated talent at RB that can do everything the committee did in Philly and offers better value here than Bijan at #10.
NFL Comp: Demarco Murray
31. Kansas City Chiefs - Dawand Jones
Potentially something of a zero sum game with Jones in on the right side and Brown out on the left. Jones isn't a fleet footed tackle but his length, power and technique could make him a blue chip rookie.
NFL Comp: Orlando Brown
ROUND 2
32. Pittsburgh Steelers - LB Will McDonald
NFL Comp: long armed Barkevious Mingo
33. Houston Texans - OC Luke Wypler
NFL Comp: Jeff Saturday
34. Arizona Cardinals - WR Quentin Johnston
NFL Comp: Antonio Bryant
35. Indianapolis Colts - CB Tae Banks
NFL Comp: Vontae Davis
36. LA Rams - WR Jordan Addison
NFL Comp: lean Robert Woods

NFL Comp: Victor Cruz
38. Las Vegas Raiders - TE Micheal Mayer
NFL Comp: Anthony Fasano
39. Carolina Panthers - TE Luke Musgrave
NFL Comp: Dallas Goedert
